audio guides
Recorded tour commentary
Audio guides are recorded commentaries that accompany visits to museums, historic sites, or tourist attractions.
Visitors typically wear headphones and listen to narration keyed to numbered stops or triggered by location: The audio guide explained each painting as we moved through the gallery.
Once delivered on dedicated handheld devices, audio guides now often come as smartphone apps.
