astigmatisms
Corneal curvature irregularities
Astigmatisms is the plural of astigmatism, a defect in the eye or a lens that prevents light from focusing at a single point, causing blurred or distorted vision.
Most astigmatisms are correctable with glasses or contact lenses.
The word also describes any distorted view or perception: the astigmatisms of partisan thinking.
