air express
Fast flight delivery
Air express is expedited shipping by aircraft, promising faster delivery than standard freight.
The term dates to the early days of commercial aviation when speed by air was novel.
Now largely replaced by "overnight" or "next-day" shipping in consumer contexts, it persists in commercial freight: We sent the parts air express to meet the deadline.
