aging up
Advancing in years
Aging up is depicting or reimagining a character as older than their original or canonical age, typically in fan fiction or fan art.
The practice often allows creators to portray younger characters in adult situations—romantic, sexual, or otherwise mature content—while maintaining some distance from the original: The artist aged up the teenage characters before drawing them together.
