agape love
Unconditional divine affection
Agape love is unconditional, selfless love—the kind that seeks another's good without expecting anything in return.
The term comes from Greek, where *agape* was one of several words for love, and it gained special significance in Christian theology as the highest form of love: God's love for humanity, and the love Christians are called to show others.
Unlike romantic or familial love, agape love extends even to strangers and enemies: Agape love asks nothing back.
