active member
Involved group participant
An active member is someone who participates regularly in an organization's activities, as opposed to one who merely holds membership.
The phrase often carries obligations—attending meetings, paying dues, contributing time: Only active members can vote in elections.
Some organizations distinguish active members from honorary, emeritus, or inactive ones to clarify who has full rights and responsibilities.
