actioning

Putting into motion

Actioning is business jargon for taking action on something or putting a plan into effect.

It turns the noun action into a verb, following a pattern common in corporate speak where nouns get verbed for efficiency: We'll be actioning these recommendations by end of quarter.

The term is more common in British and Australian workplaces than American ones, and often draws eye-rolls from those who find it unnecessarily bureaucratic when simpler verbs like "do" or "implement" would suffice.
