Toyoda
Common Japanese name
Toyoda is a Japanese surname, most notably associated with the family that founded the Toyota Motor Corporation.
The company name was changed from Toyoda to Toyota for marketing reasons—the latter requiring fewer brush strokes in Japanese and considered luckier.
Kiichiro Toyoda founded what became the world's largest automaker.
