The Strangers is a 2008 American horror film in which a couple is terrorized by three masked intruders at a remote vacation home.
The film popularized the home-invasion subgenre and spawned sequels.
The title refers to the attackers, whose motives remain unexplained—when asked why they're doing this, one replies: Because you were home.
