The Moonstone

The Moonstone is an 1868 novel by Wilkie Collins, often cited as the first detective novel in English.

The story follows the disappearance of a large Indian diamond and features early examples of detective fiction conventions: methodical investigation, multiple narrators, and red herrings.

I'm reading The Moonstone for my Victorian literature class.
