TB skin test
Tuberculosis exposure check
A TB skin test is a medical procedure to detect tuberculosis infection.
A small amount of purified protein derivative is injected just under the skin, typically on the forearm.
If a raised bump develops within 48-72 hours, it suggests exposure to the tuberculosis bacterium.
Also called a Mantoux test or PPD test.
