Salt Bae
Viral sprinkling chef
Salt Bae is the internet persona of Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, famous for his theatrical technique of sprinkling salt down his forearm onto steak.
The 2017 video went viral, turning his distinctive pose—elbow raised, fingers delicately releasing salt—into a widely imitated meme.
The name combines his signature ingredient with the affectionate suffix *bae*: He did the Salt Bae thing over my fries.
