Peyton Place
Small-town secrets revealed
Peyton Place is a fictional New England town from Grace Metalious's 1956 novel, depicting scandalous behavior beneath a respectable surface.
The name became shorthand for any community harboring secrets, hypocrisy, or illicit affairs behind closed doors: This neighborhood is a real Peyton Place.
