Olympic city
Torch relay destination
An Olympic city is a city that has hosted the Olympic Games, either summer or winter.
The designation often brings lasting infrastructure changes and international prestige: Barcelona transformed itself as an Olympic city in 1992.
Cities actively bidding for future games are called candidate cities rather than Olympic cities.
