Max von Sydow
Max von Sydow (1929–2020) was a Swedish actor known for his commanding presence and distinctive voice.
He rose to prominence in Ingmar Bergman's films, most iconically as the knight playing chess with Death in *The Seventh Seal*.
His international career spanned six decades, from *The Exorcist* to *Game of Thrones*, often cast as figures of gravity or menace: priests, villains, ancient beings.
