Manolos are shoes made by Manolo Blahnik, the Spanish luxury footwear designer known for elegant, often towering stiletto heels.
The term became cultural shorthand for expensive designer shoes after *Sex and the City* made them objects of desire: She spent her rent money on Manolos.
The name now sometimes applies loosely to any high-end heels.
