Let It Go

Release, don't cling

Let it go means to release something from your grip or control, literally or figuratively.

You let go of a rope, a grudge, or a dream that isn't working out.

The phrase often suggests emotional release—stopping the struggle against something you can't change: You have to let it go.

To let yourself go is to stop maintaining your appearance or health. *Let It Go* is also the title of a widely known song from the 2013 Disney film *Frozen*, which became a cultural phenomenon and shorthand for dramatic self-liberation.
