Jekyll/Hyde syndrome
Split self disorder
Jekyll/Hyde syndrome describes a dramatic alternation between two contrasting personalities or modes of behavior in one person—typically one pleasant or controlled, the other aggressive or disturbing.
From Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella about Dr.
Jekyll's transformation into the murderous Mr.
Hyde: His Jekyll/Hyde syndrome made him charming at work but terrifying at home.
