Isaac Luria
Isaac Luria was a sixteenth-century Jewish mystic whose teachings reshaped Kabbalah.
His ideas—divine contraction (tzimtzum), cosmic rupture, and repair of the world (tikkun)—became the dominant framework for Jewish mysticism.
Known as the Ari ("the Lion"), he taught in Safed and left no writings; disciples preserved his teachings.
Lurianic Kabbalah profoundly influenced Hasidism and Jewish theology.
