Fast Eddie

Notorious billiards shark

Fast Eddie is a nickname for a skilled hustler or sharp operator, especially in pool halls.

The name evokes someone who wins money through superior play while appearing casual or lucky.

It gained currency from the protagonist of *The Hustler* (1961) and its sequel *The Color of Money* (1986).

The name now applies to anyone with slick, slightly predatory skill: He's a real Fast Eddie when it comes to closing deals.
