European heritage
Old World roots
European heritage refers to ancestry, cultural traditions, or genetic lineage tracing back to Europe.
The phrase appears in genealogy, cultural preservation, and tourism: She traced her European heritage to Ireland and Poland.
In political contexts, particularly among white nationalist movements, it often functions as a euphemism for whiteness, framing racial identity in cultural terms: They claimed to be defending European heritage.
