Discord mods
Chat room overseers
Discord mods are volunteer moderators who manage Discord servers—online communities built around shared interests.
The role ranges from light-touch rule enforcement to heavy-handed power trips.
Internet culture stereotypes Discord mods as socially awkward, overweight young men who take their unpaid authority too seriously: Touch grass, Discord mod.
The term often implies someone who spends excessive time online moderating for free while neglecting real-world responsibilities.
