Corman
Low-budget horror pioneer
Corman typically refers to Roger Corman (1926–2024), the American filmmaker known for producing hundreds of low-budget horror and science fiction films.
His name has become shorthand for cheap, quickly made genre movies that prioritize efficiency over polish: It had that Corman aesthetic—rubber monsters and three-day shoots.
Many acclaimed directors got their start working for him.
