Christmas village
Collectible holiday display
A Christmas village is a decorative display of miniature buildings, figurines, and accessories depicting an idealized winter town scene, typically set up during the holiday season.
The pieces—churches, shops, houses, skating ponds, tiny people—are often illuminated and arranged on cotton snow or white fabric.
Collecting and expanding Christmas villages has become a widespread hobby: She adds a new piece to her Christmas village every year.
The term also describes real towns known for elaborate holiday decorations and festivities.
