Chaitanya Mahaprabhu
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was a 15th-16th century Bengali saint and religious reformer, regarded by followers as an incarnation of Krishna.
He founded Gaudiya Vaishnavism, a Hindu devotional movement emphasizing ecstatic worship through chanting and singing.
His influence spread the practice of kirtan—congregational chanting of divine names—and shaped the theology later carried westward by the Hare Krishna movement.
