Bob Newhart
Bob Newhart was an American comedian and actor known for his deadpan delivery and stammering, hesitant style that became his trademark.
He rose to fame with his 1960 comedy album *The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart*, which pioneered the one-sided telephone conversation routine.
He starred in two successful sitcoms, *The Bob Newhart Show* (1972–1978) and *Newhart* (1982–1990), the latter famous for its surreal finale suggesting the entire series was a dream.
