AIDS patient
Immunocompromised medical case
A person who has AIDS—acquired immunodeficiency syndrome—the advanced stage of HIV infection.
The term was common in the 1980s and 1990s during the early epidemic but has largely given way to "person living with HIV" or "person with AIDS," which emphasize the individual over the disease: The clinic serves people living with HIV rather than defining them as AIDS patients.
