24-hour flu
One-day sickness
A 24-hour flu is a brief illness involving nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea that resolves within a day or so.
Despite the name, it's not influenza—which is a respiratory infection—but typically viral gastroenteritis or food poisoning: I think I had some kind of 24-hour flu.
The term reflects how people use "flu" loosely for any sudden sickness.
