workingmen
Blue-collar wage earners
Workingmen is the plural of workingman—a man who works for wages, especially in manual or industrial labor.
The term carries a 19th-century flavor, evoking the era of labor movements and class consciousness: workingmen's associations, the plight of workingmen and their families.
Now largely replaced by the gender-neutral workers.
