wedding garland
Floral nuptial adornment
A wedding garland is a decorative wreath or strand of flowers, leaves, or other materials used in marriage ceremonies.
In South Asian traditions especially, elaborate floral garlands called varmalas or jaimalas are exchanged between bride and groom as a central ritual: The couple placed wedding garlands around each other's necks.
Western weddings may feature garlands as altar decorations or draped along pews and archways.
