votes of confidence
Parliamentary support declarations
Votes of confidence are formal expressions of support, typically for a leader or government.
In parliamentary systems, a vote of confidence determines whether the ruling party retains enough legislative support to govern—losing one often triggers resignation or new elections.
More broadly, any gesture showing trust or approval: The board's unanimous decision was a vote of confidence in the new CEO.
The opposite is a vote of no confidence.
