visible tattoos
Skin art showing
Visible tattoos are tattoos placed where they can be seen during normal social interaction—hands, neck, face, forearms.
The phrase appears most often in workplace contexts, where dress codes or hiring policies may prohibit or discourage them: The job listing said no visible tattoos.
What counts as visible depends on typical attire; a shoulder tattoo becomes visible in a tank top.
