unsocial hours
Off-peak work times
Unsocial hours are working times that fall outside the normal workday—nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
The term is primarily British and often appears in discussions of shift work and compensation: Nurses get extra pay for unsocial hours.
The phrase emphasizes that such schedules interfere with normal social and family life.
