Unclosed describes something that hasn't been closed or shut—a door left open, a wound that hasn't healed, a deal that hasn't been finalized.
In computing and writing, unclosed refers to brackets, tags, or quotation marks lacking their closing pair: The code crashed because of an unclosed parenthesis.
An unclosed chapter in someone's life remains unresolved.
