unbailable
Denied pretrial freedom
Unbailable describes an offense or accused person for whom bail cannot be granted.
In most legal systems, certain serious crimes—typically capital offenses or cases where the defendant poses extreme flight risk or danger—are deemed unbailable: The judge ruled the murder charge unbailable.
The accused must remain in custody until trial.
