ultraism

Philosophy of extremes

Ultraism refers to extreme or radical positions, especially in politics or religion—the tendency to push beyond moderate views to the furthest edge of a belief system.

The term can describe any movement characterized by uncompromising adherence to extreme principles.

In literary history, ultraism (ultraísmo) was a Spanish and Latin American avant-garde poetry movement of the early 1920s that rejected ornamentation in favor of pure metaphor.
