triple crowns
Three-title achievements
Triple crowns are sets of three major championships or achievements in a single field.
The term appears across sports: horse racing's Triple Crown requires winning the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes; baseball's Triple Crown goes to a player leading the league in batting average, home runs, and RBIs.
In other contexts, triple crowns may refer to any trio of top honors: She's chasing the triple crown of endurance racing.
The papal tiara, a three-tiered crown, is also called the triple crown.
