traffic cameras
Intersection surveillance devices
Traffic cameras are cameras mounted on roads to monitor vehicles and traffic flow.
Some capture images of license plates for tolls or violations like running red lights: I got a ticket from a traffic camera.
Others feed live footage to traffic management centers.
The term sometimes appears in debates about surveillance and privacy.
