tighty whities
Classic men's briefs
Tighty whities are brief-style men's underwear, typically white and fitted snugly.
The term is mildly mocking, evoking dad underwear or childhood: He still wears tighty whities.
The phrase plays on the rhyme and the image of something unfashionable compared to boxers or boxer briefs.
