teacup dogs
Tiny purse pooches
Teacup dogs are extremely small dogs bred to be even tinier than toy breeds—small enough, supposedly, to fit in a teacup.
The term is marketing language rather than an official breed classification.
Teacup versions exist for Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Yorkshire terriers, and other already-small breeds.
Critics note that breeding for extreme miniaturization often produces dogs with serious health problems.
