spring snake
Fake nut surprise
A spring snake is a coiled wire or ribbon concealed in a container—often disguised as a can of peanuts or potato chips—that springs out when opened, startling the victim.
A classic novelty prank item: He gave me a can of mixed nuts that turned out to be a spring snake.
