Spikers are people who spike things.

In volleyball, a spiker is a player who specializes in hitting the ball forcefully downward into the opponent's court.

The term also applies to those who tamper with drinks by adding alcohol or drugs without the drinker's knowledge, or who sabotage something by driving spikes into it, as loggers once did to trees to prevent their harvest.
