spic
Anti-Latino epithet
Spic is a deeply offensive ethnic slur directed at Hispanic or Latino people, particularly those of Mexican or Puerto Rican descent.
The term emerged in American English in the early twentieth century and remains taboo.
Like other racial slurs, it is sometimes reclaimed by members of the targeted group, but its use by outsiders is widely considered unacceptable and hateful.
