so-and-sos
Those unspecified people
So-and-sos is the plural of so-and-so, a placeholder for an unspecified person or thing.
It often substitutes for a name the speaker can't recall or doesn't want to say: The so-and-sos from accounting never returned my call.
Used disparagingly, it's a mild stand-in for stronger insults: Those so-and-sos left trash all over the yard.
