simperers
Affected smile makers
Simperers are people who smile in an affected, silly, or self-conscious way.
The simper suggests coyness or false modesty rather than genuine warmth: The simperers at court competed for the duke's attention.
The word carries a dismissive tone, implying the smile is insincere or annoying.
