shadow network
Hidden influence system
A shadow network is a covert system of connections operating outside official channels or public awareness.
The term applies to clandestine political alliances, underground distribution systems, or hidden digital infrastructures: Investigators uncovered a shadow network funneling money to extremist groups.
In computing, it may refer to unauthorized parallel networks within organizations.
The "shadow" suggests these structures mirror legitimate ones while remaining concealed.
