self-existent

Needing no creator

Self-existent describes something that exists by its own nature, requiring no external cause or creator.

The term appears almost exclusively in theology and philosophy, where God is described as self-existent—existing necessarily rather than contingently, dependent on nothing else for being: A self-existent being needs no explanation beyond itself.
