road company
Traveling theater group
A road company is a theatrical troupe that tours with a production, performing in different cities rather than staying in one venue.
The term distinguishes touring casts from the original Broadway or West End company: The road company of Hamilton is playing in Chicago this month.
Road companies typically perform the same show with different actors, sometimes with simplified staging for varied venues.
