ring around
Circle the perimeter
Ring around means to encircle or surround something: Police ringed around the building.
It also means to call multiple people or places in sequence, especially in British English: I'll ring around and see if anyone has availability.
The children's game "Ring Around the Rosie" uses the phrase for players joining hands in a circle.
