rightsized
Adjusted for efficiency
Rightsized is corporate jargon for having the correct number of employees—almost always a euphemism for layoffs.
Companies don't fire workers; they rightsize the workforce.
The term frames cuts as rational optimization rather than loss: After rightsizing, the department went from forty employees to twelve.
The word can also describe making anything the appropriate size, but the downsizing sense dominates.
